polylang disables photoalbum

I just installed Polylang and it works like a charm, even with Customizr, a very complex theme.
My previously made photoalbums are still there and do work, their path is the old path (without the de or en language
parts in them)
NOW, if I want to create a NEW album, that has the de language identifier in the path, however, when I want to look at it
it gives a 404 error.
I have tried all kinds of tricks – as soon as language comes into play the photoalbum built into wordpress quites
functioning, although ther album itself is still available for editing, it just does not get published (ever!)
