Polylang deletes Yoast’s primary category
-
Hello,
Like many, We are using both Yoast and Polylang on our blog.
However, we encounter a problem regarding post’s Primary Category (a function provided by Yoast):
When a post is assigned to more than one category,
Yoast has a built-in function to set which will be the primary category. This is mainly used to display this category in the breadcrumbs. However, always when updating or saving a new post, which is set as a translation of an existing article, then once saving it, it “cancels” the Primary Category on the other translations.
For example, we wanted to update an article in Spanish, which is translated already to English.
The English post is assigned a primary category.
Now, when updating and saving the Spanish version, then the English post has no Primary Category set anymore. This also happens in other languages.
Will love to hear how it can be solved. The site is using Polylang version 2.8.4
