Polylang and "Ultimate Category Excluder"-plugin

I have a problem using both polylang and the “Ultimate Category Excluder”-plugin. The plugin allows to exclude certain categories from the home page.
However when I switch within the settings to another language it only excludes those categories and all excluded categories from other languages are not marked any more.
I could not figure out a way to deal with this. Is there any way to not translate the categories with Polylang and use the ones of the default language also for translated posts in other languages? Or do you have any other ideas? The support forum of the plugin does not seem very helpful …
