Polylang 2.1 beta 2 available for tests
-
I am happy to announce that a new major version of Polylang is coming. It does not focus on a new big feature but on several improvements which in the end should improve the stability and the integration with 3rd party plugins. Here are some highlights:
The Languages menus will be moved on top. This decision was motivated by users needing a finer control of capabilities to access Strings translations (still limited to admin by default).
The post date synchronization now takes the date of the original post thanks to Jory Hogeveen.
Under the hood, the strings translations storage in DB was modified in an attempt to avoid conflicts with 3rd party plugins (and an old option of WordPress).
We attempted to improve the compatibility with WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Jetpack (infinite scroll) and fixed some bugs in the WPML API.
Important: Polylang will stop supporting WordPress versions older then 4.4
The development goes on GitHub:
* The complete changelog
* Download the beta version.
* Please test it and report bugs.The plan is to release the final version at the end of January.
