Polylang

  • Homepage string translations no longer working.
    (Rest of the site is being translated manually, so only homepage needs to work).

    Steps taken to fix strings translation failure.

    WordPress 4.4.2

    Update to Polylang 1.8.1

    Remove all plugins except Polylang and Polylang Theme Strings

    No change

    Change theme to Twenty Fifteen.

    No change

    Change theme to Twenty Fourteen.

    No change.

    Add plugins one at a time, checking each time.

    No change.

    Polylang settings – The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks

    This was working before I upgraded to 4.4.2 / Polylang 1.7.12.

    My theme is Cryout Creations Tempera.

    Back site is https://www.myretailstore2.trevssite.com

    The home page strings should be in each language on each homepage.

    Rest of the translations for the site have been/are being done manually.

    Hi
    You can try the Loco Translate plugin instead of the Polylang Theme Strings plugin.
    It does the same job and there is not incompability reported between Loco translate and Polylang (contrary to the Polylang Theme Strings plugin).
