    Hello,

Is there a polling or survey plugin written for WP 1.5?

    Thanks . . . Scott

There is a polls plugin to be found here:

there are some changes that need to be made in his polls plugin though, but i don’t recall what changes needed to be made in order for it to work with 1.5. I ditched the plugin when I upgraded as it didn’t want to work, but I’ve read that other people have made it work.

There’s another poll plugin called Democracy that uses AJAX. It can be found here:

I just wanted to second Lester Chan’s wp-poll plugin, very easy to install, very easy to use and friendly dashboard page in wp-amdin to add/edit polls.

    I second what basketball said.

If you want another option or need a little more flexibility, you might have a look at our new WordPress survey plugin – SurveyGizmo. It allows you to embed a VERY full featured survey tool into WordPress.

    https://www.SurveyGizmo.com/add-ons/wordpress-survey-plugin

With SurveyGizmo you can run surveys, polls, landing pages, and custom contact forms. You get a lot power and flexibility than with more simple sidebar polls. For instance you can also send email auto-responders or post data to outside APIs like SalesForce.com, Aweber, etc.

    Good luck.

I know it’s brand new, but I have had the following problems in implementing this plugin tonight. First, I’ve double-checked my API number, obtained from Survey Gizmo’s website, and yet get the error message that the number is incorrect. I’m not sure what the consequences are, or how the plugin would work if it were correct.

As a result, I’ve worked back and forth to design a (free) “Contact me at For My Tummy” survey. The nice thing is that SurveyGizmo has a basic “contact” item.

I created a nice survey, went to the “publish” tab, copied the “I-frame” html code, put it on my “Contact For My Tummy” page, and then realized that I didn’t want the original title (“Contact Us”), and that I had misunderstood the way a couple of the essay items would be realized.

So I redid the survey, with the new title. Now when I copy the html and put it on my Contact page, I get a small link that says “survey by SurveyGizmo” and that’s it. Not at all what I put so much effort into creating.

    Blog is For My Tummy.

I’m having SurveyGizmo troubles as well. Activating the plugin and entering the API key both work fine. I get the following error message when I try to use it:

“Sadly you’re installation of PHP does not meet the requirements to run this plug-in. Specifically:
    * You do not have DOM or DOMXML extensions (we need one of those)”

My host’s PHP installation is 4.4.4, which I understand to have DOM/DOMXML built-in.

Any thoughts on what to do?

    Thanks!

I’ve managed to get surveygizmo installed without any problems. However, I’m unable to embed it into a page. Works in the page edit preview, but not live. Is this a page template issue? I’m using the default page template. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I just wanted to second Lester Chan’s wp-poll plugin, very easy to install, very easy to use and friendly dashboard page in wp-amdin to add/edit polls. I’ve been using it for many revs without any problems at all.
