• Well what a mess up.

Your last major update caused my image / attachment page settings to change without me knowing, defaulting to an option I DIDN’T want (and never had previously).

I went from 330 indexed pages and great rankings in Google, to 1530 pages indexed along with daily drops in traffic.

Absolutely ridiculous, totally pointless update – and I bet you’ve cost a lot of people a LOT of time and money.

  • Hi @5fifty,

    Thanks for your comment.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Prior to Yoast SEO v7.0, we had an option to redirect attachment URLs to their post parent. This didn’t work for attachments that weren’t attached to anything. Yoast SEO v7.0 introduced a new setting which redirects all attachment URLs to the URL of the original image / media item. This is all explained on the new Media tab under Search Appearance. Please, refer to this post for more information: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-7-0/

If the new setting isn’t working for you, we’d kindly ask you to open a new topic in the www.remarpro.com forum so that our support team can look at your specific issue and assist you further.
