• THE FREE VERSION CANNOT PUSH FROM STAGING TO LIVE SITE

You cannot migrate back to live site with the free version but this is NOT CLEARLY NOTED. So don’t waste too much time building with the staging site only use it as a testing ground for updates.

**NOTE TO THE DEV – Use these words as your first paragraph on your plugin page:
“This is a great plugin for setting up a staging site for your website but the free version does not easily allow you push your staging site back to live.”

    It’s that simple.

I’d give you more stars if you plainly stated this fact – because the plugin works but it wasted my time having to find this out.

@rundenk I’ am sorry that you feel trapped. This was not my intention.

Anyways, it’s clearly stated in the plugin description that this plugin creates a clone of your website and nothing more but I thank you for your feedback and consider to change the plugin description to make that even more clear.

Thank you @rundenk you’ve answered the ONE question that tells me what I need to know.

@renehermi seriously consider @rundenk’s advise. MANY people will appreciate you showing integrity in this.

    Hey Rene,
I don’t mean to belittle your great efforts at what you have created. You jsut have to know that the wording you use is not clear. I assume english is not your first language so I give you some credit still.

    You use the words:
Note: For pushing & migrating plugins and theme files to live site, check out https://wp-staging.com/

Thats not good enough. It doesn’t say “you have to buy the pro version”. I watched your video so many times trying to work out why it wasnt working for me. Even in your video you don’t say “buy the pro version” I just happened to note a little word in the background of your video that says PRO. And that’s how i came to the realisation.

I suggest you use the words:
Note: For pushing & migrating plugins and theme files to live site, you have to purchase the pro version. Check out https://wp-staging.com/

    Thanks again @rundenk

I am going to add such information into the next version.

Anyways, I’ve written an article how to migrate the staging site to the live site manually with WP Staging: https://wp-staging.com/docs/copy-staging-site-to-live-site/

    Edit:

    > Note: For pushing & migrating plugins and theme files to live site, check out https://wp-staging.com/

You are right. This is misleading and will be changed asap.
