Point to Non-Local Domain Controller?

Hi there,
Our web server is hosted remotely, and our Active Directory domain controller is local to our proximity. Theoretically, if my DC were named dc0 and I wanted to point to it from the remotely hosted server to the IP of 172.16.1.1 (it’s not there), how would I do this?
