We have an experts database where scientists can apply to join the database using an online form. For at least three years, we’ve been using Pods form to pass the data to a custom content type that has been set up using Pods to a draft. We then go in to validate and approve the expert, create a user account with a special editor role, designate them as the author, and publish their profile.

Late last week, the form stopped working and I get the following error on the page:

“Error Anonymous form submissions are not enabled for this site, try logging in first contacting your site administrator.”

Therefore, it appears that users that don’t already exist on the site cannot load and complete the form. Is there some sort of setting that I can change to revert back to how it worked before?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This is on purpose, you have to enable this in Pods Admin > Settings because it requires use of sessions to secure the forms. With sessions on, it can interfere with site caching and since anonymous form submissions are not something every single person needs — it’s off by default to ensure Pods does not interfere with most caching setups.

Thanks, Scott. I don’t understand why it would have worked just fine for three years and then not work all of a sudden. I enabled sessions and still cannot get the form to load.

Pods 2.8.2 was just released and may address one of the issues that prevented the form from working on your site. Can you verify it’s resolved now?

The update did the trick. The form works now. Thanks!
