PodPress in WordPress 2.7 problem..

    im using WordPress 2.7 and tried to install podpress 8.8 with all other patches which are available on different websites, but nthing happend.
    how i m doing…

    1- extract podpress 8.8 in plugin folder
    2- active plugin
    3- went to Add new post [ but Podcasting files are not coming up on screen] and there is a error sing at status bar
    4- applied patches, but didnt work at all.

    please kindly help me in that, and explain it with step by step ,
