podPress Feed File Not Working In iTunes
-
Greetings! I’m helping a friend with his WordPress setup and everything is working just fine…except for podPress. Considering that his site revolves around a podcast, this is a do or die question.
If you take a look at the blog at https://www.macvoices.com/wordpress, you can see that it looks just fine. We’re using the WP-andreas09 template with some minor changes. If I use Firefox 2.0 to subscribe to the RSS feed, it works perfectly. The URL for the RSS feed appears to be https://www.macvoices.com/wordpress/?feed=rss2.
Now, here’s the interesting thing. If I look at the same feed in Safari on a Mac, things get really wacky. Every episode contains links to the current file and all previous files. For example, if I had five files named file1.mp3, file2.mp3, file3.mp3, file4.mp3 and file5.mp3 (file5 being the most recent episode), the feed (when viewed in Safari) shows all five files for episode 5, the first 4 files for episode 4, the first 3 files for episode 3, etc…
If I go into Juice and subscribe to the URL seen above for the feed file, Juice goes out, grabs all 102 episodes, and lists them, but the downloads don’t seem to happen.
Likewise, if I try entering the URL into iTunes, I get no joy. It just returns with a message stating that “https://www.macvoices.com/wordpress/?feed=rss2” does not seem to be a valid Podcast URL.
Can anyone tell me what might be going wrong here?
Steve
