• Tim,
I thought that podpress had this feature but I must have been thinking about a plugin I used years ago. How hard would it be to add pre-appended audio to podpress? This would be very useful so that a separate “jungle” or “intro” to the podcast could be uploaded once and then automatically played before the main file.

I know the WP Audio Player plugin has this and another podcasting software I used a long time ago had it too. What do you think?

    Hi Ray,

it is nice to hear from you.

It is possible to add a jingle or intro media file and the episode/sermon in the form of a playlist to the 1PixelOut player. I’m not sure how-to do this with the old Podango player and I also don’t whether it is possible.

But the more important question here is maybe: what happens when some downloads the media file via iTunes (or listens to the file via iTunes)?
In the moment I cannot imagine a way to make itunes play a separate media file first. I think it is necessary to merge both files during the production phase and to have one file which includes the intro. But once you do this, one would not need a separate intro file. Or it would be necessary to have to versions of the media file – one with and one without the intro. I think that would have the big disadvantage that one would need more web space to host both file version.

What do you think about this?

    Tim
