    Our podcast feed quit working on us. We publish to our WordPress website, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, and none of these hosts work correctly, though I can’t think of any changes we made on our end that would have caused this.

    When trying to listen to the podcast on our website we get a 404 Not Found error stating that the URL could not be found on that server. However, if I pull the file up via the “media” tab in the backend of our Worpress site, the file itself works fine. A volunteer who helps us our created a workaround by going to the backend of the server and creating a new directory rather than using the path that Seriously Simple Podcasting creates, but we can’t take the time to do this for every new upload.

    As for our Spotify feed, the audio is simply not pushing to them at all. The last one that successfully went to our Spotify feed was on July 24th.

    Lastly, when trying to listen on the Apple Podcasts App, these episodes give an “Episode Unavailable” error.

    With all of that said, my two questions are:

    1. Why is Seriously Simple Podcasting create a new path that doesn’t work, and
    2. How can we either fix this Seriously Simple Podcasting path *or* change its settings so that it points to the uploaded file in WordPress rather than the new path the SSP creates?

  • I see several comments on here that this plugin quit working, with no responses to any of them. I rolled back to the previous version and it started working again. I hope this helps. This is how I did it:

    • Disable autoupdates for the plugin if it is enabled.
    • Install WP Rollback plugin. This enables you to roll back to a previous version. Enable it.
    • In your plugins list, find the Seriously Simple Podcast plugin. You will notice a new option called “Rollback”. Click that and it will list all the versions. I went back 1 version. After it installs, activate it.
    • My Podcasts now worked as before.

    @nickatmhcc Hi there,

    It looks like you might have the Bluehost plugin installed, correct? If so, there is known conflict between their plugin and SSP. It was introduced relatively recently when they added a new setting to the plugin and enabled it by default. Please refer to this help article for assistance.

    Let me know if the trouble persists after following the instructions outlined in the article.

    Thanks.

    Thanks so much, @keleigh824 for the tip! It was, in fact, the SSP error. All fixed, it appears!
