For the last several weeks we’ve been struggling with what Flywheel calls a self-imposed DDOS attack. The /feed/podcast/ page is being accessed several times a minute which causes the site to gobble up resources and ends up with the site going down. Turning off Bluebrry stops the issue but leaves us without our podcast feed. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Not much we can do about a ddos attack. Are you sure it’s not just you are getting very popular?

You could switch to using a FREE PodcastMirror.com feed. Go to podcastmirror.com and sign in using a blubrry.com account login (if you don’t have one you can get one free at blubrry.com). Follow the getting started with PowerPress. That will take the load off your webserver and redirect it to PodcastMirror which can handle the traffic without taking your site down.
