• When I try to edit a Page or create a new page, the Blubbry Podcast episode editor block does not appear. However, the player does appear when updating an existing page. It also does appear when editing or trying to create a new Post.

This is a recent issue, as I did not encounter it before Christmas, when I last updated a Page.

How do I edit or create a podcast episode on a Page?

Hi there. Have you been creating podcast episodes on pages? Pages are meant to be static, so they wouldn’t be added to your podcast RSS feed. We did remove that functionality to avoid confusion with many people who tried using pages and didn’t see their episodes syndicated. Posts or custom post types should be used for podcast episodes.

Thanks Dave – but no, I do use posts for my regular feed. Before I publish an episode I share it with the interviewee, to seek their approval, and for this I have used password-protected Pages (too good effect). I use Pages, intentionally, so they do not appear in the feed. Until last month, the Podcast episode editing block appeared at the bottom of the page. It doesn’t any longer, which is odd, as when you update the Page, the Podcast media player appears. I can show you an example of the front end of such a page – to this I have added the WP audio player at the bottom of the page, as a work around.

The media player beneath the image appears, although not appearing in the back end editing view of the page, so it actually is an audio episode from the previous month.
