Podcast Enclosures…
-
Here is my dilemma. I have a few different blogs and websites that I will be setting up soon. I wanted to have a hosted service that did what I wanted – which included:
Domain Mapping
Ability to add menu items – not blog post
Support for podcast (audio & video) enclosures.I have been checking out hosted blog solutions. Typepad, meets my needs minus the menu items.
I setup a free wordpress.com account and loved it – the menu items (pages) and the templates were perfect. Alas, no domain mapping (yet) and my audio file links did not have the proper rss enclosure tags. I’ve read that it supports them but did not get a response to my support email.
Now I am looking at installing wordpress on the domains in question – which, unfortunately puts me in the position of fixing problems and managing the hosted product.
I still don’t have a clear understanding of how enclosures work – or if they do.
Also, are the templates available for the free wordpress.com account available when you install the product on your own server?
Finally, while I am technical – mostly in the .NET world, I have no desire (read, none whatsoever) of managing this new technical empire. How time consuming is it? I am more interested in content and it is where I am making my income these days. How/where do I find a good web guy to manage minor changes for me – WordPress related.
Thanks,
Matthew Moran
