PNGCrush your PNG image files

I tested PNGCrush on 3 of the larger image files and it works well. The image files will be crushed in BPS .50.2

Tried Smushit too, but since the png’s are already optimized in PS, Smushit displays: “Smush.it did not find any saving of your image(s).”

Yeah, over the past years I’ve experienced the superiority of tools like PNGCrush over Smush.it

All mmode images have been crushed and added to .50.2.

Nice, please don’t forget about the ./admin/images/ folder as well. Same savings possibilities apply there.

We looked at that and there was not enough of a difference to do those image files. Doing the MMode images was a significant savings of 49Kb total so that was worth it. Thanks again for the great idea!

Note: The overall size of the BPS plugin will increase in version .50.2 since a couple of new features will be added. The size increase is from added pages and 1,000’s of lines of new code in those pages.
