PNG thumbnails bigger than original. How to change bit depth to 8bit?

Hi,
My .png thumbnails are getting much much bigger than original, because of bit depth. My original png’s are 8 bits in depth, but the thumbnails are 32 bits. How to configer the plugin to save the thumbnails with the same bit as original, or just to fix it to 8 bits?
