    Hi there

I used GA goals with PMPro and they work out fine most of the time (unless there is an issue on PMPro Free Trial duplication etc..).. However, with paid orders, obviously nothing ever makes it to GA if the payment is part of a recurring subscription… Any suggestions how to unify the e-commerce reporting from PMPro into GA?

Obviously, PMPro knows about recurring payments (Stripe API/webhook, and Paypal IPN.webhook), while I have seen it struggling with Paypal IPN parsing (see my other topic), I wonder if there is a way to use web hook callbacks from gateways to update the GA goals (if there is such a thing!) or just update the GA e-commerce data (much like done by Woocommerce when you’re using their Membership and Subscription plugins).

    Thanks a lot.

perhaps need to hook into pmpro_subscription_renewal_payment_complete (just making it up, you know your actions) and posting to Google Analytics via Measurement Protocol??

    Hi @outlook9394

Here’s a guide that you can make use of to setup Google Analytics with Paid Memberships Pro – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/google-analytics-goals-paid-memberships-pro/

You may also use that hook in ‘pmpro_subscription_payment_completed’ to run a custom action of your choice.

I hope this helps get you started.

    Thanks Andrew, appreciated.

Is it possible for PMPro team to come up with a small add-on that takes care of with the necessary GTM Data Layer? This way, you can just put the GA tracking ID directly into PMPro settings, and after that all e-commerce data goes into GA with the relevant value (Membership Level, Membership $, Payment GW, Order ID, Order Total $, Coupon Amount or % etc.).

This would go a long way in making sure that all online sellers benefit from out of the box PMPro GA integration. Setting up Goals is better than nothing or e-commerce tracking, but it doesn’t add as much as value (and prone to errors) than actual e-commerce hard data from PMPro to GA.

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks
