I love PM so far. ??

Right now, as admin, I can add users to a Project and they can upload/comment etc.

Ideally I’d like to be able to assign a custom wordpress role (i.e. Project Managers or Authors) to be able to create projects. Is there a way to do this with PM currently?

I checked for specific capabilities but didn’t see any that were directly associated to PM. Is PM just using the standard wp read/post capabilities? If so is there a way to easily modify this so that custom roles can create projects?

Also, is there a way to prevent files from being seen by individuals outside the Project? Right now if someone had the direct link to the file anyone can access it since it’s uploaded via the standard WP Media Uploader; a bit dangerous if you’re working on confidential files. ??

    Thanks!

Ack, can’t edit the original post anymore…

The portion about files should read like this:

Also, is there a way to prevent files from being seen by individuals outside the Project? Right now if someone has a direct link to a file from a project then anyone could access it since it’s uploaded via the standard WP Media Uploader to the wp-content/uploads folder; dangerous if you’re working on confidential files. Perhaps having files uploaded to a PM specific folder (i.e pm-files)outside of the wp-content/uploads folder with additional file restrictions (possibly via .htaccess) would resolve this. Just a thought. ??
