It is possible that that is the case. We don’t have any way to test it, because Buddyboss is a closed-source product.

Without seeing the issue myself, it’s hard to offer much advice, but a good guess would be to add a custom CSS rule with more selector specificity to your theme like

.bp-docs-container .plus-or-minus, 
.bp-docs-container .paperclip-vertical, 
.bp-docs-container .paperclip-jaunty {
	background: url('../images/bp-docs-ui-sprites.png') no-repeat;
	display: block;
	float: left;
	margin-left: 10px;

Thank you for the offer, but I’d prefer not to have a login. You can definitely figure this out. You need to see what rule is overriding the background image then make your new rule more specific so that it “wins”:
