• This has been a problem for me for some time now, but I’ve just been to lazy to deal with it.

My plugins won’t update. I select them all, run the update they all update automatically, WordPress tells me they are updated, but when I refresh the screen they are the old version of the plugin.

I’ve even tried doing single updates. Each time it says successful, but then the update isn’t actually updated.

    Any ideas?

Do you have any caching plugins running? Is it possibly a caching issue?

Were you EVER able to update from the dashboard, or is this a new problem that emerged?

Have you checked the file permissions for the plugins folder?

It COULD be one of your plugins causing this issue. You could try disabling all plugins except one of them that needs to be updated, and then trying to update it.

If it is a plugin conflict, you will want to only enable them one by one so you can figure out which one is causing the conflict, since it might present other problems in the future.

@jonathan Bosssenger 1. Try disabling your plugins one by one and see if anything changes! 2. You can activate WordPress default theme(Twentyfifteen) and then change back to your theme. 3. Try clearing your browser cache and do a hard refresh by pressing CLT + F5. These steps would help you to pinpoint the error.

I tried all these options, and nothing worked.

Weirdly, using the WP CLI and running

    wp plugin update --all

    did work.

Any ideas why it wouldnt work in browser?
