• I’m a at a loss. I’ve tried multiple searches and though i’m a firm believer that no problem can’t be found, solved online, I can’t figure out what happened.

I’m using All-in-one-event (ai1e) calendar and a while ago began using feedwordpress plugins. Both were compatible it seemed. Then one day all in one started to deactivate on its own. i noticed that it was everytime feedwordpress checked for new syndicated posts. I was worried that some string replace functions i had put in for feedwordpress feeds might actually be messing with code on ai1e. I disabled them. I still occured. I disabled all feeds, then deactivated feedwordpress, tried renstalling both of them, totally deleted feedwordpress, and it still deactivates on its own. ai1e deactivates, it seems, after logging in.

Then it started getting really wierd. I started to logging in and seeing 6-8 event plugins that i never installed- installed and active on my site! I want to do a total reinstall of wordpress now, and that might be my only option. I’m scared of doing it (and if thats your best advice, please include a good tutorial for a clean re-install on godaddy). I am currently using the most up to date plugins and wordpress, I’m not sure what else to do. Thanks you

Apologies, the website (which is a test website I was hoping to launch soon) is https://www.miamipraxis1.com

Most recently, after trying to redownlaod ai1e event calendar, and 8 other event calendar plugins showed up. when I tried to activate ai1e, and it gave me this error:

Warning: key() [function.key]: Passed variable is not an array or object in /…/html/wp-content/plugins/alieneila-event-calendar/alieneila_calendar.php on line 54

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /…/html/wp-content/plugins/alieneila-event-calendar/alieneila_calendar.php:54) in /…/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

Have you tried checking your server’s error logs for clues?

I did, and i highlighted all text that had either of those plugins. however, I’m pretty new to this and I’m not totally sure I know what I’m looking for.

Can you drop a copy of some of those entries into the WordPress pastebin and post the pastebin url here? Perhaps someone will be able to spot the problem and suggest a solution.

Apologies, I wasn’t looking at the error logs but rather the apache logs. Apparently I didn’t have the error logs activated on godaddy. I’ve activated it now.

I repeated some of the prior actions (re-deleted the mystery-installed-event-plugins and tried to reactivate ai1e calendar plugin) in hopes of replicated the actions. So far there isn’t anything when i download the error logs, I check back in a little bit to see if there is anything new in the logs. Thank you!

Heres what I have from the error logs so far. As a note, it told me several times that I did not have permissions to access the “settings” page on the ai1e calendar plugin, and yet would let me log in after different attempts.

If the “client” is the IP in those errors, that is not my IP…

Looks pretty clear cut to me – something in the server setup is interfering with WordPress. Have you tried asking your hosts about this?

oh wow. So I called godaddy, and a really helpful guy was on the phone with me for more than an hour. After multiple attempts at solutions, i off-handedly mentioned that problems seemed to happen when i logged into my admin on word press. At which point he asks me what browser i have.

Chrome was somehow remembering an action and doing this automatically. I started using firefox since thursday and so far the website is live, all plugins playing nicely.

Thought I’d put out the conclusion in case any one else comes up with similar problems.
