    Hi,

After downloading, extracting files then ftp(ing) plugins to my site’s plugin folder they do not appear in Plugin Management area of my blog.

Have checked developers’ sites for any special installation instructions, etc. Still no success.

Am able to upload themes no problem.

    Totally bewildered.

    Please help.

    Hey Everyone!

I just figured this out and had to share! I couldn’t figure it out either, since I downloaded the entire plugin of YAPB and it worked. Now why wouldn’t any other plugin work the same way?

Don’t upload the entire file, or it won’t work. Take each file from your plugin and upload via your cpanel or FTP. You don’t need to upload the readme txt file. I just got Stats and Subscribe plugins to comments to work by doing this. And believe me, I have sat here for a few hours trying to figure out if it’s a problem with the WinZip program, or possibly something else. So no, you’re NOT stupid everyone!

I don’t know how to upload batches of files. But if I figure it out, I’ll let you know. Or maybe one of the nice WP people will let us know. E

Nah. Those nice WP people are sick of explaining things, and so instead they are busily making ways for WordPress to install plugins itself, directly.

WordPress 2.5 will include automatic plugin upgrade functionality. Work is being done on automatic plugin install functionality too, but I don’t know if it will be in 2.5 initially. Maybe later.

Note that this automatic stuff will only work with plugins listed here on www.remarpro.com, I believe.

Wow! I have spent days trying up upload plugins–Thanks for the help. When I didn’t upload Readme it worked—YEA!!!!!!!!!!11
