    Hi all,

In some need of some assistance – wp-admin/plugins is only displaying 1/3 of all of the plugins in the FTP wp-content/plugins folder.

The issue started this afternoon when I installed a seemingly inconsequential plugin ‘Easy Testimonials’ plugin this afternoon which resulted in a “Http 500 Error“.

I deleted the plugin through FTP, but the site was still broken. Odd.

Through FTP, I deactivated all plugins by renaming the wp-content/plugins folder to “wp-content/plugins.deactivate“. The site came alive again and I was able to gain access to the wp-admin.

I then renamed the plugin folder back to “plugins” and went to wp-admin/plugins.php to reactivate all of the plugins one by one to identify the one causing the issue.

This is where things got really weird.

Only a handful of plugins appeared on the page, roughly a third of those in the wp-content/plugins folder, all of which had been running perfectly this afternoon. There is no discernible or obvious pattern as to which plugins WordPress has listed on the page. Frustratingly, my backup plugin (backupbuddy) is not one of those chosen plugins so I cannot revert to an old backup.

I have read around online for the last few hours and the only other report of this happening was here: https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=13972. Sadly no report as to how it was fixed. After reading this article I used Filezilla to ensure that all directories permissions are set to 755 and files to 644 (took ages!). Still no joy.

Any advice would be HUGELY appreciated.

    Best,
    Chris.
