• I am the administrator. No, I am not on wordpress.com. The site is running via my own hosting. PHP v5.2.11. All other dashboard admin functions/options work. Only the Plugins dropdown is missing Add New.

I manually ftp’ed a plugin into the wp-content/plugins directory and it doesn’t show up. I see no Add New or Installed options under Plugins. Just Plugins and Editor. I deleted the two stock plugins that were in there and showed in the listing.

    Database is mySQL v5.0.92-community

    Check Complete

I’m at a loss. I checked the permissions for plugins php files and they are all 644 as they should be. 744 and 755 didn’t help.

    Anybody have a suggestion?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Well, there are no active plugins and I removed every plugin from the plugins directory so, that’s not it. And yes, “active_plugins” is set to a:0:{}.

I can try swapping themes I guess.
