plugins for image and video gallery?

i know there’s a lot out there but the popular ones all seem to use these [shortcodes] to implement and they don’t work in my home.php file where I want to load it. so i just need a traditional plug-in (not a widget) that i can actually implement using a proper php tag.

for the image gallery i am looking for something that will display a row of pictures horizontally (preferably picasa specific) and one that will let me have some arrows on the end of the rows to scroll through the pictures manually. i would also like for it to have the lightbox or slimbox or any of those kind of effects where the picture is portrayed zoomed in nicely on the page.

more or less the same for the video plug-in but for youtube.

any suggestions? thank you.
