• I’m at my ropes end..
Wordpress is throwing my plugins and I don’t know how to stop it!

I install, activate and everything works great for at little while.
    Then suddenly they’re gone!
Last time I saw some php error about it missing the correct header.

In an attempt to limit my plugins until the error has been solved, I have only installed 3 plugins atm:
    Jetpack, Akismet and Transposh.
The last time they disappeared Akismet stayed as the only one.

All the plugins are compatible according to the installers, so I’m about to cry now.

    Help!

  • WordPress doesn’t remove plugins just like that, there must be something else going on. You may have been hacked. Are the plugin directories still present in the /wp-content/plugins directory?

The only times I’ve ever seen plugins being removed or disabled just like that, is when I tried to update them, the update mechanism would have trouble removing the old version, and it just ended up with a “failed to update plugin“, even though many files were removed. However, this has only ever occured on my local installation.

But if you plugins are there one moment, and then they’re gone the next (without any of your intervention), you’ll need to look deeper.

(double post, sorry. WP.org was acting up)

    Hi Senff

    Thank you for your answer.

I’m pretty sure I haven’t been hacked. My fear is that it is my web provider who’s idiots again.
I was just hoping it wasn’t the case.

All my plugins still exists in the folder on my ftp folder.

    I have the same problem.

If the plugins are still in the /wp-content/plugins, they should just be disabled in your WP admin, not removed, correct?

The plugins are still in the /wp-content/plugins folder but there’s not showing in the dashboard. I’m trying to resolve it deleting the files and reinstalling. It seems it’s working.
