I’m sure I’m missing something really obvious, but I’m still a relative beginner at this so sorry if this question is dumb.

I set up my second website, dressforflamenco.com, as an add-on domain of my main site – I understood that was the best way to avoid paying for extra hosting.

I’ve uploaded some plugins and themes into the dressforflamenco.com folder, and I can see them in cpanel, but they don’t come up when I open wp-admin.

How on earth do I get plugins and themes for this site?

  • assuming you have a directory named dressforflamenco.com ..

inside that directory, you will have more directories — one of which will be wp-content —

look inside wp-content and you will see more directories, one of which is named plugins

    thats where plugins go.

the other directory is going to be named themes

    thats where themes go.

Whooami – thanks for replying and yes, that’s what I thought.

The first time, I copied the whole plugins folder from my main domain into wp-content for the subdomain – but when I logged into wp-admin, none of them showed up. OK, I thought, serves me right for trying to be too smart!

So then I uploaded some plugins to the “plugins” folder in wp-content in the dressforflamenco.com directory. I did exactly what I do when I upload the plugins on the main directory. I can see that I’ve uploaded and unzipped them. But when I log in to wp-admin for dressforflamenco.com, I can’t see them.

    I’m stuck!
