[Plugin: Yoast] Meta title/description not updated on Google.

Hello,

I am a novice to the word of wordpress and I am attempting to update the meta title and description of our webpage?

We are currently updating all online platforms in order to support recent changes to our business and I wanted the meta-title and description to reflect this.

I updated it a week ago and understand that Google takes time to register the changes. I have changed the titles in snippet view using the Yoast platform, I have also attempted tick the ‘force re-write’ button to see if this will help. The changes do not appear on the google preview but yet when I click the link, the tab for the webpage displays the new meta-title.

Does anyone have any solutions or have a made a very basic error?

I hope this all makes sense/that I have used the correct vocabulary.
