Are you looking to make certain posts not show up as “related” to other posts? Or not display the “Related Posts” for certain posts?

If it’s the former, YARPP has this function built in: you can exclude posts in certain tags or categories from being chosen as “related”. This is in “The Pool” settings in YARPP settings. If you don’t see them, you can turn it on the screen options.
