[Plugin: Yet Another Related Posts Plugin] How do I completely uninstall YARRP?

  • I recently upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.9.2, but ever since I’ve been unable to remove tags or categories from posts when editing them. When I click on the “Update” button, the tags and categories simply reappear when the page reloads.

    I’ve tried disabling all of my plugins but that didn’t help, so now I want to completely remove and reinstall them.

    How do I completely remove YARPP? I see that it creates two database tables and adds entries to some of the default WordPress tables. Which of these are safe to delete?

  • The indixes added to the default WP tables are completely harmless so I would not tell you to remove them unless you’re familiar with MySQL.

    First, disable the YARPP plugin in WordPress, delete the files for the plugin on your server, and then it’s safe to remove the two tables prefixed yarpp_.
