[Plugin: XWidgets] global widget rules
-
First off…I absolutely love this plugin! Great work!
One suggestion I have that would help out usability — I think it would be helpful and save users a lot of time if when going to the XWidgets page (where you control the widgets for the individual page) the global widget rules (widget set on all pages by default when you do NOT use the XWidgets page) are automatically loaded into place. Thus, users can simply remove/add widgets. This way users would not have to recreate some widgets they want on all pages (for example the footer). For me, and I would think that in most cases, people want to have a few unique widgets on each page, but that there are more widgets that need to be displayed on all the page (navigational sidebar, footer, etc.).
Instead of loading the global widgets automatically you could simply use a check-box (like the one used for inheret widgets from parent/post) and have it say something like “load widgets from parent post” – this way they are loaded and then can be edited for the individual page instead of having to recreate each widget one by one.
