[Plugin: XML Google Maps] Map wont show at all; using NextGen gallery

I use the NextGen gallery to upload my images. Within the NextGen plugin, images show EXIF data using the meta link. I’m under the impression from the installation instructions that once you get a google API for the site and insert it into the plugin, everything should work effortlessly. I’m just not sure why a map wont show up at all. Is there an imbedded KML file that I’m supposed to have uploaded to my site. I simply just installed both plugins, uploaded some images, and was hoping it would work. Let me know. Thanks.
