• Hi,

I’ve tried to follow all the correct instructions but not sure why the site’s not working properly on mobiles…

Sometimes the home page loads with WP Touch, sometimes it doesn’t; sometimes the posts load with WP Touch, sometimes they don’t.

I’m running it with WP Super Cache — is it better to use W3 Total Cache? I have added the user agent strings.

    Any help is gratefully received!

    Thanks

  • I’m seeing a similar, possibly related problem; sometimes the desktop loads the mobile version of an article.

We’ve managed to fix it by clearing the cache, but that is obviously not ideal.

    We’re using the quickcache plugin.

This is commonly reported with caching plugins. To remedy, be sure to optimize your caching plugin for use one mobile sites. To do this, as seatpitch mentioned, enter the user agents listed in the Advanced Options of WPtouch into the “rejected user agents” area of your caching plugin.

For WP Super Cache specifically, you will want to enable mobile support as well as the option for WPtouch.

Purge the cache (manually via ftp if you have to) and clear the browser cache on your device. After these steps, you caching plugin should no longer cache nor serve pages to mobile devices.

    BraveNewCode, thanks for the reply.
I’ve added the rejected user agents in the settings for QuickCache. We’ll test if that is enough.

I can not find any “mobile support” or “WPTouch” options in QuickCache. Is this SuperCache-specific?

As far as we know, only WP Super Cache has added native support of the WPtouch plugin.
