  • I’ve found the same thing. There are five different soft 404s caused by WPtouch including this one:

    https://www.everintransit.com/?wptouch_view=normal&wptouch_redirect_nonce=80b88659b1&wptouch_redirect=%2F

    Anyone have any advice?

Hi SammyJayJay and everintransit, are you guys using a cache plugin on your website? The link is the link to the desktop theme, that Google’s bot is crawling. Users shouldn’t see the error, however.

I am using W3 Total Cache. What do I need to do?

Also, I think this is a question for another page, but WPtouch has only been working intermittently for the past few months (the pblugin is active, but the mobile theme is not showing). Could this also be because of the cache plugin?

Yes. Caching plugins often store the desktop version of pages then serve them up regardless of device detection. In many caching plugins, you may reject mobile user agents — this tells the plugin not to serve cached pages when the devices you’ve added are in play. Here is the current list of user agents we recommend to add to your caching plugin’s “rejected user agents”:
    iphone
    ipod
    ipad
    pre
    pixi
    iemobile
    iemobile/7.0
    aspen
    incognito
    webmate
    android
    dream
    cupcake
    froyo
    blackberry9500
    blackberry9520
    blackberry9530
    blackberry9550
    blackberry 9800
    blackberry 9850
    blackberry 9860
    blackberry 9780
    webos
    s8000
    bada
    googlebot-mobile
    adsbot-google
