[Plugin: wp.com stats] “You are not a member of this blog” error

    I came across this error when I tried to use the wordpress.com stats.

    You are not a member of this blog.

    If you have just installed the WordPress.com Stats plugin, this error probably appeared because the API key entered in the plugin belongs to a different WordPress.com user account.

    The owner of the API key must visit this blog’s stats page to grant access.

    You are logged into WordPress.com as <<username>>. To switch accounts, log out.

    First thing, I did a clean installation but use the “inherit” function within the plugin.

    Secondly, I am logged in to both wordpress.com and my hosted wordpress blog.

    Thirdly, if I directly go to wordpress.com, I can see the stats, but not on my blog’s dashboard. All I got was this error.
