[Plugin: WPBook] Cant generate access token

I believe this is happening during the connection to Facebook for the API calls – not related to accessing your blog in https (which is the part WPBook Lite eliminated).

In the settings for WPBook Lite (inside WordPress) there is an advanced setting down near the end of the page which is titled “Disable Facebook SSL verification” – can you check that setting and then try again and report back?

There’s lots of discussion about this error around the web – I think there is an issue with outdated certificate bundles or something, but disabling this verification should fix the problem.

I’ve just given that a try, still getting this though:

I have inputted App Id, App secret and my user ID and when I go to “Generate Token”, I get the following error:

Ah, so this is happening right at the moment WPBook goes to get the token.

For that call, WPBook Lite (you’re not using regular WPBook, are you?) uses WordPress’ built-in wp_remote_request function.

That function in turn relies on Curl, which is trying to validate the SSL certificate Facebook responds with.

So, I need to update the call to wp_remote_request to pass sslverify=false

Nevermind, turned out to be faster than I expected.

Just checked in a version with sslverify turned to false for getting token from Facebook.

If you update to 1.3.1, let me know if it solves the problem for you.
