• Hi, this is my first time using WPBook. I followed the instruction under the “1.Basic Facebook Application Setup and Plugin Activation”. After I have set up the application, I tried accessing the apps page (https://apps.facebook.com/jacksonphang/), it keeps refreshing and is unable to load any contents.

    Without being able to access the apps page, I am unable to authorize postings to FB. Please help. Thanks.

  • Yes follow the instructions Before you update ; )

    I have updated the plugin. Was not working first.

    Did some changes of OAth as mentioned and it worked, but now a problem.

    When I post on my website. Error is coming like Facebook didnt send post ID kind…

    What should I do?

    Its showing No post id returned from Facebook

    @johneckman I was using WPBook in older versions. 2.0.13 the last succesfull one. Now with 2.1 followed the instructions on https://www.openparenthesis.org/2011/03/14/wpbook-2-1-released (which should be put into the Installation instructions on wordpress or on the FAQ page). But no success, now when I do the check permissions on the publish stream I do get the Facebook blank page ……

    Well I didnt followed notes of beta version… Now its working fine… Only thing I am not able to find out is…

    The wall posts on Application page are published as if I have written. I tried all the settings but could not find solution ??

    I’m getting this error and I’ve spent the last 2 hours trying to fix it and I’m lost.

    This user has NOT set an access_token for the application to use.

    Help?

    I just added upgrade instructions over at WPBook.net: https://wpbook.net/docs/upgrade/ Please follow these instructions before posting here.

    There is also a lot going on in this threa. To make sure we don’t miss anyone I’ gonna request you start a new thread for each new issue.

    @greekspy can you open a new thread and define “not working”?

    @atmaram I think this may be a Facebook setting. I think you have to either post as a page or a user. So I bet you could set up a page and post your app page that way.

    @christianebuddy Is your app working besides the permission problem?

    @pantone204 please open a new thread and talk about some of the things you did to troubleshoot, your app url, your site url, and WPBook version.

    Fixed.

    BUT I do have another question.

    We have a group/company page that I am an admin for, and I created the application with my personal account, but I obviously don’t want my personal account avatar to pop up when a post is made to the group wall from WordPress.

    How do I list the comment as coming from the group instead of me? I realize it’s because I created the app, so do I need to recreate the app under a new, personal account?

    My permissions link is showing like this

    This page is where you can check and grant extended permissions, which enable WPBook to publish to your personal wall and/or to the walls of fan pages.

    Your userid is 597027240

    You will need to enter that number into the WPBook settings page on your WordPress install.

    This user_id has granted these permissions:

    * offline_access – yes
    * read_stream – yes
    * publish_stream – yes

    This user has set an access_token for the application to use.

    To correct any of these, Grant or re-grant permissions for your userid. (This is required if you intend to publish to your personal wall OR any fan pages.)

    You’ve indicated you wish to publish to this page: 155590327809738

    This page has NOT granted stream.publish permissions to this app (OR this is an application profile page or group page – no way to check those currently). Grant stream.publish for this page.

    I tried to Grant stream.publish for page… But its not showing any thing for granting instead Application gets loaded.

    Let me know. It may be some minor setting but not able to locate it…

    @bandonrandon No the app is not working.

    According to the instructions I have to recheck the permissions. There is no way in rechecking them (when I go back to 2.0.13 after disabling there are links to recheck one by one, in 2.1 there are not) . I only can go to the facebook permissions page with the provided link and there is a blank page. Every single aspect on the upgrade instructions are followed, so I do not know what’s wrong?

    @christianebuddy – can you start a new thread in the forums specifically about the inability to recheck permissions?

    You should not be trying to use the individual links that were part of 2.0.13 – you should be using the one and only link provided in 2.1. The whole mechanism for requesting, checking, and saving permissions is different in 2.1 and later than it was in 2.0.x.

    Your permissions page url should look something like this:
    https://apps.facebook.com/app_name/?is_permissions=true&wp_user=2

    It is in the WPBook settings, under stream publishing, and says “Check permissions for stream publishing, reading, and offline access.”

    Once you have located that page, start a new thread about your permission problems, listing what gets printed out when you hit that page.

    @pantone204 – As BandonRandon suggested, please open a new thread for these issues.

    (@johneckman)

    @atmaram What kind of page are you trying to publish to?

    Note that it says the page has not granted permissions “OR this is an application profile page or group page – no way to check those currently.”

    What is the link (the url linked to, not the text) for “Grant stream.publish for this page”?

    Are you an admin of that page?
