  • That’s right. If you’re running the OpenID plugin then an OpenID field will be displayed in the widget. But OpenID capability is not part of this plugin yet.

    Thanks leftville, for the response.

“…yet” ?? Does that mean you are planning to build that in? ??

That would be just great because the wp-openid plugins OpenID server part is a bit overkill for my liking. Just allowing visitors to use their openid to log in would be perfect. Besides, the probability of such a thing working on WPMU (the multi-user variant of WP) would be much greater. WP-openid does not work on WPMU as far as I know…

Anyway, thanks for your work and I will be keeping an eye on your project in anticipation of this promessing future development!

I do have plans to build a standalone adoption of the OpenID standard into the plugin at some point. However that may be a while down the road as my next task is internationalization, to allow for greater usability to more people.

    That is excellent to hear!

In about a month I will have some spare time so if you’d like me to help out in internationalization, just let me know. I did internationalization on a pugin before, so that would pose no problem for me. Building OpenID into it, I will gladly leave up to you ??
