[Plugin: wp Time Machine] No Upload to Dropbox
-
Hello,
first of all I want to say that this a is really nice idea for an plugin. It will helps a lot. And the upcomming “Cronjobs” will be a killer feature.
But:
I set it up and run on PHP 5.2.11. The files are created on my server and stored under wp-content. If I have understood everything correctly, it should be loaded from there to the drop box and then be deleted. Both does not work.I’ve used my drop box and e-mail and password were correct. Doubble and triple checked. Then I set up a new Dropbox – even for security reasons I wanted to do this. But even with this drop box will not do.
Is this a known problem? What’s the problem?

Hi Paul.
I did this. There were 3 times unlink and I put an // before each.
Then I started the backup and look at the server (wp-contant), wp (wp-time-maschine 1.8.3) and the dropbox. Here is what happened:
1. Backup started.
2. 5 files were generated at the server
3. no zip or tar was generated
4. wp said “
* Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3
* PHP: version 5.2.11
* cURL: version 7.19.6
* system() command: yes
* wp-content writable: yes
Your archives have been completed
They should now be available via your offsite provider:
Dropbox5. Dropbox: NO!
6. Files are on the server.Does this help?
Just saw a new 1.8.4 version. I will test this in a few minutes.
BTW: I just installed an update for my DokumentsToGo iPhone-App. A issus for that app was a problem with none US or UK Dropbox-Accounts. I have an account registered from germany. But it runs under dropbox.com and is totaly in englisch.
Tested wp-time-maschine 1.8.4 with 4 times unlink to //unlink.
But not change to my last post.Hi Paul and folks,
just tested 1.8.4. Couldn’t get it to upload to Dropbox.
Thanks for your effort anyway.
Regards ??

Are you familiar with the Firebug add-on for Firefox?
If so, I’ll post some detailed instructions that will help me debug what’s going on …
Paul
Yes I have installed Firebug. Use it not often, but keep going.
Hey, another day, another version.
I tried 1.8.6 but it does not work for me.

Reporting once again.
Just tested 1.8.6 and the Dropbox upload doesn’t complete. Last lines of my log:

[2010-05-07 9:45:02 am] — instantiate new DropboxUploader()Regards.
Sebastian (and probably a lot of others) —
If you have subversion installed on your host try this … from ther command line / ssh …
Go to wp-content/plugins:
Remove wp-time-machine:
$ rm -rf wp-time-machine
Next install this test version:
$ svn co https://svn.wp-plugins.org/wp-time-machine/branches/pear-test ./wp-time-machine
Then post a link here to the log (there’s a link to the log at the top of the plugin interface).
Paul
Note: that svn co above should all be on 1 line …
I’ll be taking a week off so no updates will appear for the next week or so … but while I’m away you might try this stuff out:

It seems the the time machine does not save the dropbox password properly, or remember paths.
If I add Backups/folder name, it simply backs up into the top folder.
Also, more seriously, has anyone managed to unzip a content files zip? I get permission errors.
Will post this seperately too
I am on board again. I don have a commandline.
So I tested the new version.[2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] *** wpTimeMachine plugin loaded 1.8.7 *** [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### remove previous archives [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### PHP: version 5.2.11 [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### cURL: version 7.19.6 [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### system() command: yes [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### shell_exec() command: yes [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] ### wp-content writable: yes [2010-05-18 11:35:37 am] --- provider: dropbox [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] *** wpTimeMachine plugin loaded 1.8.7 *** [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### remove previous archives [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; de; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### PHP: version 5.2.11 [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### cURL: version 7.19.6 [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### system() command: yes [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### shell_exec() command: yes [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] ### wp-content writable: yes [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] --- provider: dropbox [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] --- generate archives request, for dropbox [2010-05-18 11:36:11 am] --- generate text instructions [2010-05-18 11:36:13 am] --- generate mysql dump [2010-05-18 11:36:13 am] --- generate archives as .zip
So what do I see? 4 Files on my wp-content: wpTimeMaschine-content-files.zip, qpTimeMaschine-data-files.sql, wpTimeMaschine-Instructions.txt and the wpTimeMaschine_log.txt as show above.
Should this be 2 files only?
No upload to the dropbox. — again.
Sebastian
