Hello again! Quick question regarding special character codes. I wanted to insert some checkmarks using but the & was auto-converted to an ampersand, so in the table it just displays the code. Since it’s not a very common character reference, I checked to see if it displays correctly when just put into a wp post, and it does fine. Any suggestions?

    Hi Heather,

    thanks for your question.
It seems that the escaping function has problems with such characters when the numerical part of the character code is more than 4 characters long.
Unfortunately, I was not yet able to find a solution to this.

Have you tried to just paste in the sign as-is (and not the code for it)? That should also work, as everything is usually treated as utf-8 encoding.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
