Hi all, I am having problems importing € euro symbol and £ pound symbol, they get transformed to a blank square.

I imagine this has something to do with the UTF-8 standard but don’t know how to resolve it.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

  • Hi,

try opening your CSV file with Windows Editor (Notepad). Click “Save as”.

On the left of the “Save” button, you should see a drop down list “Encoding”. Select UTF-8 there and save.

Then try importing that file. If that doesn’t work, try the other options you have in that drop down list (I know that sounds stupid, but unfortunately I have not yet found a definite solution for this import problem (which other people have with other characters)).

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks, this worked most times… best way was to convert all monetary symbols to html special characters code…
