I have a problem. My site was moved to a new server last wed. and after that the site and wp-admin went blank. Hostgator said it was because of SC. They moved it out of the plugin folder to wp-content. The site came back up. Page view says: <!– WP Super Cache is installed but broken. The path to wp-cache-phase1.php in wp-content/advanced-cache.php must be fixed! –>

The problem is if SC is moved back to the plugin folder , the site will go blank again(site and wp-admin) so the steps to manually uninstall and reinstall can’t be done per readme txt.

If the uninstall was done with the uninstall script would the script know to find the SC in wp-content and work correctly? or how would this be done?

  • The error message tells you what to do:
“WP Super Cache is installed but broken. The path to wp-cache-phase1.php in wp-content/advanced-cache.php must be fixed!”

wp-cache-phase1.php is in your plugins/wp-super-cache folder and wp-content/advanced-cache.php has to point at it.
