  • Chances are your host is running PHP as the same user that owns that directory. There are checks in place for that in the plugin but it’s nigh on impossible to catch every permutation unfortunately.

    Talk to your support people and ask them if PHP should be allowed to write to that directory. I think it’s a huge security risk but a lot of hosts do it.
