I can’t imagine why it would cause problems. Why not try it at the weekend or on a dev server first?

I’m using MaxCDN and when I enable the CDN feature, my site gets an all white background with the links and posts running vertically.

gooma2 – try loading the stylesheet off your CDN in your browser. Did it work? You possibly haven’t got the CDN configured correctly.

Here’s the update: Rackspace works a lot differently than Amazon and MaxCDN. According to the Tech Support Rep at Rackspace, they DO NOT support CNAME files as Amazon does.

From the two months that we have been using the Cloud files service at Rackspace with the CDN plugin, the images load a lot faster, but there have also been some glitches. In addition, this CDN is not recognized by webpagetest.org, which caused me some alarm.

Investigating the whole CDN setup further, most of what I am finding is that using the CNAME setup is a lot better, so now we are getting ready to make the switch to Amazon Cloudfront.

If anyone has had experience with setting up Cloudfront, I would appreciate your input.

    Thanks

    Hi Donncha

Unfortunately I can only dream of being a coder…

This source describes how to setup W3 with Rackspace Akamai CDN.. it also says they will support CNAMES soon… i am on a live chat now..

All they can advise is a possible Q2 adoption of 2011. Apparently they have a June deadline.

I’m confused. All the plugin does is replace URLs with a new hostname that gets served by your CDN. That’s all it does.
