• Hi there,

I have a custom theme in my blog install.
WP-Cache worked fine, and I decided to upgrade to Super Cache.

Everything seemed to be working fine when I did that.
I did not get many Super Cached pages, but always Cached pages, and I could see activity on the server which meant Super Cache was making pages…
I decided to leave it for a few days and see how it panned out.
Our internet service here is not fantastic and often there are local caching issues that mean we don’t get to see real pages served by our server, rather we get to see those held in a local cache at the ISP.

Today I noticed that I am getting pages served by Super Cache when researching what I thought was an unrelated problem with our blog.. Basically the front page displays but has no theme.. Just the basic text of the blog, rather like when you have a theme problem.

On further investigation I noticed that these pages are marked as served by Super Cache.

So, to summarize.. WIth Super Cache installed I am getting Cached pages with no issues, but any Super Cached pages are themeless..

Can anyone let me know what I need to do.. My theme is pretty old, so I am wondering if there is some mod to that I need to make…

    Thanks for any help.

  • Have you temporarily tried a modern theme? Even the default theme, kubrick? Does the same thing happen them them?

    Hi there,

I haven’t simply because it’s a pretty busy production site, and I was hoping that someone would just say, “oh yeah you need to add this to the theme to make it work..”

Having said that I have just checked on the blog this morning and Super Cache is serving pages with the theme, so a) It’s intermittent, b) Therefore it’s going to be hard to track down.

I will do as you suggest during a light activity period this week and report back.
In the meantime can you suggest anywhere I might look to try and pin down why on occasion the pages get cached without a theme? I know that’s a pretty general question, but I can’t find anyone else discussing it at all in these pages. ??

    Cheers,
    scratt

There’s no reason why your theme shouldn’t be cached on every page unless one of your plugins switches it off for some reason. Unfortunately I can’t think why this is happening to your blog!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the feedback.

The only plugins I have are as follows..
Akismet, Autometa, Media Insert, Register Plus and Super Cache.

It’s a fully up to date WordPress install as of a day or so ago..
They just put 2.6.3 out by the looks of it!

It is doing the same with other themes… ??

    Kind regards,
    scratt
