This plugin blows. When this plugin was activated on my site
(a day ago), it caused my site changes to not show at all, and I had to CONSTANTLY delete the plugins’ cache just to get my updates to show to visitors.

I also noticed that my pages didn’t match. When I changed my site background image, the new image showed on some pages, but not all. SO, I deleted the plugins’ cache — AGAIN –and only then did the background image change for the entire site. I’ve used better cache plugins that did not have this problem, but I had to delete this one because it’s just problematic because of having to manually delete the cache files every time I make any kind of change.

  • When posts and comments (and AFAIR themes are changed) the cache files are refreshed. Unfortunately it’s next to impossible to catch all changes though. It’s one of those things you have to handle when using a caching plugin.

Direct changes to your theme or CSS and such won’t be caught by the plugin automatically. So yeah, clearing will be a requirement then. This is one of the disadvantages of caching systems, they cache even when things change.

Wait until you have to deal with Static CDN caching. Hoo, you’re in for a shocker there.

Well stated. Thanks guys. @otto: it’s ironic you mentioned the CDN. I was just reading up on that. Looks like I’m headed in that direction with my sites. We started out with a $10.00 a month hosting cost a few years ago and now we’re headed into the triple digits. “Hoo!” is right!

@donncha: Didn’t mean to bash your plugin. It was actually doing what it was designed to do, but I’m pecking between five different sites at a time over here (updating and changes)… . The plugin didn’t give me any problems and actually sped up the I tested it on; it was just the clearing the cache bit. I’ll actually be reinstalling it after I’m done making the changes to the site. It’s a great plug-in. Thanks for sharing it with us.
