• I just want to make sure I have the proper permissions set, etc. such that I can get the full functionality of WP Super Cache.

It seems to be working pretty well, but what causes me concern is when I tried to “Proudly tell the world your server is Digg proof!” and I didn’t see anything in my footer.

After installation of WP Super Cache, I have wp-content generally at 755, but I have given web server (www-data) write permissions to wp-content/themes and wp-content/uploads.

What do I need to make sure is set permission-wise to get that “Proudly tell the world your server is Digg proof!” to show up in my blog footer?

Also, I was looking into the troubleshooting tips associated with this plug in and found “Make sure cache/wpcachemutex.lock is writeable by the web server.” — Well, no such file exists anywhere in that directory. Does that mean something is amiss too?

Like I said, I do see pages being cached and I do see the

<!– Dynamic Page Served (once) in 0.372 seconds –>
    <!– Cached page generated by WP-Super-Cache on 2008-12-06 15:28:15 –>

in my source. But these little things make me think I may not be getting the best out of the plugin.
